Dutch filmmaker Mani Nickpour’s “Ahriman: Death Before Dying” has received three Septimius Award nominations, including Best Director, Best Costume Design, and Best Makeup & Hairstyling.
Dutch film Ahriman: Death Before Dying by Mani Nickpouri has been nominated for three Septimius Awards, which include Best Director, Best Costume Design, and Best Makeup & Hairstyling. At the Netherlands’ International Theater Amsterdam, the winners will be announced during a ceremony held on September 25 and 26 2023.

The Septimius Awards is an award ceremony, with a strong emphasis on discovering and encouraging new independent talent, supporting visionary films, and bringing together all elements of filmmaking and storytelling, which includes fiction, non-fiction, animation, television series, and scripts.
The Dutch television network will also air the ceremony, which Mani Nickpour and crew will attend.
Three Septimius Award nominations for Ahriman: Death Before Dying
The selection committee of the Septimius Awards praised the film for its “captivating originality and creativity,” which are the hallmarks of all of the movies it selects.
The story is that of A hesitant gunshot by a military sniper, a historic speech at a king’s tomb, and a slip in determination. These three events create a tear in the timeline of a soul’s reincarnation. It is up to the spirit of good Spenta-Mainyu to purify the reincarnated soul, who has been tainted by the destructive spirit Ahriman.

Ahriman: Death Before Dying is directed by Mani Nickpour and stars Saeid Nickpour, Juliet Cannegieter, Olena Uutai, Lavinia Meijer, and Grimes. Previously, the film had its world premiere at the 2023 edition of the Paris Fantasy Film Fesitval (winner Best feature) and then made its way to Kanazawa Film Festival and the Bondance International Film Festival in Japan (winner Beste feature).
